History
In July, 2004, Incinerator Specialists, Inc. (ISI) became a
part of the Facultatieve Technologies Group. Founded in 1937, ISI is one of the
leading U.S. companies
in the field of manufacture and maintenance of cremators and incinerators. ISI
operates a modern production facility in Medina,
Ohio (near Cleveland)
and has an impressive history, driven by achieving client satisfaction.
The history of Facultatieve Technologies dates back to 1908.
Since then, the company has amassed vast technical knowledge, experience and international
know-how. We have installed more incinerators and cremators than any other
producer, under a wide variety of brand names, including Dowson & Mason,
Stellus, TABO INEX, Evans Universal, Evans Tabo Universal, FDI and Incinerator
Specialists, Inc.
In 2003, Facultatieve Technologies took over the activities
of the French FDI Cremation and FDI Fumisterie. FDI (Fours Delot International)
was established in 1908 and is a well-known name in the field of cremators, incinerators
and their brickwork. Thanks to an efficient service engineer network, Facultatieve
Technologies is able to help its clients even more quickly.
Evans Universal was established in 1959 as a specialist in the
field of design and construction of incineration equipment, and supplied furnaces
all over the world. Evans Universal took over DM TABO Ltd (formerly Dowson &
Mason) in 1987, and built upon their reputation to gain an important position
as a manufacturer within the cremator market.
1979 saw the bankruptcy of Ugnsbolaget TABO Incinerator AB from
Sweden. A number of branches of the bankrupt company continued to supply the market,
but independently under the leadership of TABO France. In 1993, these companies
were taken over by 'the Facultatieve Group', (which had already been active in
furnace construction since the 1990s) and incorporated the companies in its INEX
Milieutechniek subsidiary, to form TABO INEX.
'The Facultatieve Group' took over Evans Universal at the end
of 1998, and the year 1999 was dominated by the integration of both sets of experience
and know-how in the field of furnace construction and flue gas treatment (filter
systems), under a combined name which everyone would recognize - Evans Tabo Universal.
Following the successful addition of research & development,
design, production facilities and after sales service, the definitive company
name of 'Facultatieve Technologies' would finally be introduced in 2000. This
name plays an important role because of the clear link with the parent company
'the Facultatieve Group'.
